Learning Beyond the Classroom
One of the unique and most rewarding features of the BSc in Animal Science programme is the Field Attachment. This two-month institutional internship provides students with valuable hands-on learning experiences in real-world settings.
Experiences
Recently, I successfully completed a two-month internship at the National Veterinary Hospital, an experience that significantly strengthened my academic foundation through extensive hands-on clinical exposure. During this period, I actively participated in a wide range of veterinary procedures, assisted in diagnostic and surgical cases, observed case management practices, and developed a deeper understanding of animal healthcare systems.
Students are placed in a diverse range of organizations across Bhutan, including:
- Livestock farms and production units
- Veterinary hospitals and clinics
- Research and development centres
- Government agencies under the livestock sector
- Development projects and partner organizations
