What is the full title of the degree and which body grants the award?

The programme offers two awards: a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a Diploma in Animal Science. These degrees are granted by the Royal University of Bhutan.

Candidates must have passed Class XII with a minimum of 50% in Biology. Selection is based on merit ranking using ability rating points: Biology (5), Chemistry (3), English (3), Dzongkha (2), and any other subject (1).

Yes, it is a nested programme with double entry and double exit points. Students can exit with a Diploma after two years or continue for four years to gain a BSc degree.

Yes, the programme allows for lateral entry for in-service candidates on a self-financed basis. Applicants must have a Diploma in Animal Science and pass an entrance examination covering English, General Knowledge, and Technical subjects.

On completion of Year 2, 70% of the class will proceed to the BSc level. To be eligible, students must be judged to have the intellectual ability and commitment, and they must secure an aggregate of 60% or above.
